Mia steps up her game at Championship Meet


Mia Kamenko (10) was in awesome form last weekend leading a strong HeadHunter contingent at the 10&U Oregon Swimming Championships in Springfield, Or.  She swam best times in all 6 of her events, and took home medals in 4 of those including an astounding 9 second drop in her 200 Freestyle, finishing 7th in the state.  Other girls stepping up were Charlotte Baker (9) who lead off the medley relay in a swift 38.74, over 2 seconds faster than her previous best, Lauren Williams (9) in her 100 Breast and Jordan Harris (8) in her 25 Free and 50 Back. The 8&Under Relay of Katrina Le (7), Hannah Ferdows (8), Evie Johnson (7) and Jordan took 11th place in both their relay events.

On the boys side Jack Harris (10) also took home a medal going 4 1/2 seconds faster than his best in taking 6th in the 100 Breast and was also stellar in his 4 other individuals and 2 relays.Boys Relay scy 13

Stuart Johnson (9) swam 4 best times narrowly missing out on the top 8 medals on 3 races and seemingly getting stronger as the meet progressed.  The boys relay of Jack, Stuart, Jaden Kim (9), and Luke Bales (10) also provided the most exciting race of the meet coming from 3rd to first in their heat in the 200 Free Relay to finish up the Saturday session.  Full Meet Results.
