Age Groupers take 3rd at OSI Champs


In a performance that can be described as nothing short of amazing the 2014 11-14 Headhunters moved up from an 18th position finish last year to take 3rd at this years State Meet!!  With 40 USA Swimming teams all competing at the meet it was an impressive finish for the youngsters and one that should inspire the team to even greater heights in the future.

The charge was lead by Mark Kim (13) who at only his 2nd Championship Meet came away with 4 gold medals and two hard fought 2nd place silvers.  Sruthi Ravi (12) was also on fire taking home a gold medal in the 50 Back and a bronze in the 100 Back.

The 11-12 girls quartet of Sruthi, Steph Hake, Abby Crowson, and Bailey Segall raced their way to 2 gold medal swims in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays!  The 11-12 boys (Eric Wu, Khlaifha Kalahiki, Val Tikomirov, Chris Xia, and Jaden Kim) finished 2nd in all 4 relays (200 and 400 Free and 200 and 400 medley Relays).  Other top 3 podium finishes included Jaden Kim (11) and Eric Wu (12) both of whom finished with 3 silver medals and a bronze,  Nabil Kalahiki(11), with a bronze in the 100 Back,  Khalifha Kalahiki (12) took a bronze in the 500 Free , Jeff Fadlovich (14) took bronze in the 1000 Free, and Val Tikhomirov (12) took bronze in the 50 Breast.

Great job also to the 11-12 Boys “B” team (Tenzin Zingkha, Zach Macia, Jack Harris, and Nabil Kalahiki) and 13-14 Boys (Jeff Fadlovich, Mark Kim, Coliun Kuhta, Luke Alberts, Danilo Kamenko) teams that scored in all 4 relays.

Congratulations also to top 8 medal winners Steph Hake (12), Abby Crowson (12), Siobhan Choong (14), Mary Grall (12), Jack Harris (12), Mia Kamenko (11), Finn McClone (13), Bailey Segall (12), Chris Xia, and Tenzin Zingka!!

Along with superb efforts by the rest of the team, Jacob McCarthy (14), Aaron Le (14), and Max Crowson (14) Team Green took 3rd overall!!  Yup Yup!!
