PLEASE SEND ALL REQUIRED EQUIPMENT to PRACTICE:
Level 1: Cap, goggles, fins, water bottle, kickboard, pull buoy
Level 2: Cap, goggles, fins, water bottle, kickboard, pull buoy, snorkel, parachute
Level 3: Cap, goggles, fins, water bottle, kickboard, pull buoy, snorkel, parachute, paddles(Jr/Sr only),
Lane Gainor swim trainer (Jr/Sr only)
Attendance at practice:
*Level 1 There is no attendance requirement other than you MUST BE ON TIME or skip practice! U(nless your parent has it pre-approved by the coach.) To move up to level 2, you must attend 90% of the practices in Level 1.
*Level 2 Attend at least 70% of all practices; 90% to move up to level 3. BE ON TIME! (Unless your parent has it pre-approved by the coach.)
*Level 3 Attend at least 80% of all practices, including Dryland. BE ON TIME! (Unless your parent has it pre-approved by the coach.)
Meets: Attendance expectations-This is a competitive swim team. We hope that every swimmer will attend all of the meets they qualify for!
*Level 1 is not required to attend any meets, but we do encourage them to attend.
*Level 2 MUST attend 2 USA meets/year to attempt to earn a qualifying time for state, plus the two state meets, one Feb/March and one in July.
*Level 3 MUST attend at least 8 USA meets/year to attempt to earn a qualifying time for state, plus the two state meets, one Feb/March and one in July.
If you register for a meet, then find out you will not be able to attend (swimmer wakes up sick, etc.) PLEASE TEXT the coach who will be on deck before the warmup is set to begin if you can not make it to the meet!! They will not see an email until it is too late to re-arrange relays, etc.
*There are big differences between the levels in terms of ability and desire to compete. We try our best to place the swimmers in the appropriate level to prevent burnout and injuries.
Season Plan: As we prepare to begin a new season, the coaches have developed a season plan of our groups. The plan will be posted on the team website.
